Being middle class used to come with a sense of financial comfort, but for many people in Minnesota, that isn't the case anymore. Between the rising costs of housing, healthcare, childcare, and groceries, it feels like families are doing everything just to survive, but they aren't necessarily able to thrive.

According to the latest SmartAsset data, Minnesota now ranks 14th in the nation for the highest middle-class income requirements. If you feel like your paycheck isn't stretching as far as it used to, this data confirms it.

If you're looking to boost your income without heading back to the classroom, check out the list below featuring the 50 highest-paying jobs in Minnesota that don't require a degree.

Minnesota’s Middle-Class Income Range

In Minnesota, the median household income is $87,117. However, the "middle class" bracket is much wider than people realize. To fall into this category in the North Star State, your household needs to earn between $58,078 and $174,234.

Why such a big range? The middle class is defined by Pew Research as two-thirds to double the median income.

Wisconsin and Iowa have a slightly lower bar to clear. In the Badger state, the median household income sits at $77,488, with the middle class ranging from $51,659 to $154,976. Meanwhile, Iowa has the lowest requirements of the three; the median is $75,501, and you only need $50,334 to enter the middle class, which tops out at $151,002.
