There are tons of these lists that are coming out throughout the year that we all get to vote on. So how it works is each place for every category is "nominated by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best in the U.S."

Some of the top 10 categories are things like the best farmers markets, dinner theaters, and zoo memberships in the country. And the one that a Minnesota spot got recognized for is the 10 best public markets.
They describe public markets as places that "often [offer] insight into local life. With a diverse range of stalls and booths, offering everything from groceries to artisanal goods to prepared foods, often alongside opportunities for activities and demonstrations, these markets are community hubs."
