This Minneapolis Dog Bar Was Just Ranked One of the Best in the U.S.

Sitting outside with your friends and with your dog by your side is a great way to spend a nice summer afternoon or evening in Minnesota.

There are plenty of restaurants, breweries, and wineries all around our state that welcome dogs to the patio. But did you know that these things called dog bars also exist?

Maybe it's because I don't own a dog, but I had no idea that these existed! And not only are they in Minnesota, but you can find dog bars all across the country.

What Are Dog Bars

No, dog bars aren't a place where your dog goes to get a drink (although I bet these places do have dog menus). Dog bars are a place where people can take their dogs to socialize and have a drink themselves while letting their dogs play in one of the many play areas.

Gingr, a dog care app, says that dog bars "typically feature ample outdoor or indoor-outdoor spaces where dogs can roam freely, play, and interact with other dogs under the watchful eyes of their owners, who can enjoy a drink, a bite to eat, and the company of fellow pet enthusiasts."

That sounds so fun! I'd go even without a dog because I'm such a big animal lover.

There are actually a few dog bars that have already popped up in Minnesota, but one of them was recently named one of the best dog bars in the country.

The Best Dog Bar in Minnesota

This is one of USA Today's 10 Best lists, where experts put together a short list of great businesses and then we vote for the top 10.

They recently came out with the 10 best dog bars in the country, and making the list, coming in at number 6, is Unleashed Hounds and Hops in Minneapolis!

This place looks awesome. There's so much space for dogs to run around, play, and socialize, while you get to chill with fellow dog lovers and have a drink and something to eat.

There's an indoor play area and an outdoor play area for the dogs, plus plenty of events like Drink for Dogs and Pups and Pizza Date Night.
