We've hosted quite a few big sporting events in Minnesota in the past few years.  And next year we've got a new, massive sporting event that Minnesota will be able to add to our belt.

Big Sporting Events Hosted in Minnesota

Just in the past 5 years, according to ABC 5 in the cities, Minnesota has hosted: the Super Bowl, the NCAA men's and women's Final Four, the Summer X Games, the Ryder Cup, the Olympic trials for curling, and the Paralympics trials for swimming and track and field.

We also have some big hosting gigs coming up for sporting events. Those include the Big Ten men's and women's basketball championships in 2024, the men's Frozen Four in 2024, the women's Frozen Four in 2025, and the Special Olympics USA Games in 2026.

Minnesota Hosting Olympic Trial in 2024

Also in 2024, just announced, we'll be hosting the US Olympic gymnastics trials. Gymnastics is an extremely popular Olympic event so to have the trials be hosted here next year is really cool.

The USA Gymnastics Championships will be at the Minneapolis Convention Center starting June 22nd of 2024. The Olympic trials will also be in Minneapolis but at Target Center. Those will take place June 27th-30th, 2024.

Once the Olympic trials are over on the 30th, USA Gymnastics will announce who is going to be joining the USA gymnastics team at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

If you'd like to see Team USA hopefuls compete, you can buy a ticket to the trials. I'm not sure how much the tickets are but I'd imagine they're pretty expensive. But, I'm fairly certain that Minnesota native and gold medalist Suni Lee will be competing so... that would be super cool to watch her!
