Minnesota Dog Named 2023’s ‘Pet of the Year’
Pet Partners promotes "the health and wellness benefits of animal-assisted therapy, activities, and education." Each year they host a nationwide competition with the goal of raising funds and awareness for their therapy program which provides support animals for seniors, patients, veterans, and children around the world.

The 2023 Pet Partners Pet of The Year Is From Rochester, Minnesota
Rye Guy, an Australian Shepherd from Rochester, Minnesota, has officially been named the 2023 Pet Partners Pet of the Year. Rye and his owner, Lindsey Wallace, raised an impressive $14,000 for Pet Partners, beating out 87 other pets from around the world who participated in the six-week fundraising competition.
C. Annie Peters, President & CEO of Pet Partners, thanked all the participants, "This competition continues to showcase the role pets play in our lives and the bond we share with them. The stories were amazing. I want to personally thank Rye and his human Lindsey as well as all the other candidates and fundraising teams that made Pet of the Year a success."
Lindsey was naturally excited when the news was announced, "It feels incredible to be part of such a strong community. We are truly honored to receive all this love and represent Pet Partners in this way. It is clear that therapy animals have a gift that touches the lives of so many people to make the world a better place. Rye is just one example of a pet with that gift."
