Minnesota Officers Cracking Down On Distracted Driving This Month
If you happen to be reading this while in a car, you should…probably pull over. ASAP. Or if you’re someone who sometimes multitasks while cruising throughout Minnesota, consider this a solid reminder to stay focused on driving. That’s because over 300 Minnesota law enforcement agencies are going to be cracking down on distracted driving throughout the month of April. This is after the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said that texting citations have been on the rise in the past couple years. And on average, 59 people a year are killed because of distracted driving.
So the next time you’re driving down 14 or Broadway, keep your phone and all sandwiches within a reasonable distance. Don’t believe me? Below is video footage from a police officer in St. Paul who ended up busting a driver who was more focused on his cheeseburger than the road. I won’t ruin the surprise.
