If you're looking for something to do with the family for spring break this year, the Mall of America is offering several different 'staycation' options right here in Minnesota.

The spring of 2021 certainly looks more upbeat and hopeful than spring last year did when the pandemic was just starting to shut everything down here in Minnesota and around the country. So if you want to do something-- but don't want to head down to the usual spring break destinations-- check out the Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington.

MOA just announced several different 'staycation' packages that could make for a fun spring break for your family this year right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. According to this KARE-11 story, Dan Jasper is Vice President at MOA. He said the big attractions at the mall ARE open this year, but with restrictions, thanks to the pandemic.

Those restrictions, though, can actually work in your favor, because MOA is limiting its attractions (like the Nickelodeon Universe amusement park) to just 250 visitors at a time. "Imagine being in an 8-acre large theme park with only 250 other people… there are NO waits," Jasper told KARE 11 in the story.

Other attractions at MOA, like Sea Life Aquarium, and Fly Over America, are also open, also with limits. And MOA has instituted an extensive deep clean protocol that sanitizes the various rides after each use, the story said. Of course, there are all the various shopping and dining options that call MOA home, as well.  And MOA itself is also offering a Stay+Win package with its various hotels, if you don't want to make that hour drive up Highway-52 and back from Rochester to Bloomington.

Of course, while MOA is pretty cool, Minnesota also offers several other way-cool, fun-filled family spring break trips that won't break the bank, as well. Keep scrolling to check out five different pandemic-friendly vacation options your family might like!
