MN Wild Super-Fan Buys ‘The X’ Sign, Puts it in His Front Yard
One Minnesota Wild fan is super a big super-fan that when he saw 'The X' from the the Xcel Energy Center (now Grand Casino Arena) sign was up for auction, he knew he needed it.
Now, that giant X sits in his front yard and lights up whenever the Wild score a goal during the playoffs.

MN Wild Fan Buys 'The X' Sign
Jon and his wife have been Wild season ticket holders for more than 10 years, according to FOX 9, so it makes sense that Jon decided they needed the X sign.
He won the auction, buying the X sign for a little over $21,000. He said to FOX 9, "'As soon as I saw it, I was like, I have to get that. There's only one. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to get it.'"
And to set the record straight, Jon told KARE 11, "'Contrary to what people are guessing online, my wife did support this.'"
Setting Up 'The X' Sign in MN Wild Fan's Front Yard
After dealing with figuring out how to move the 100 pound, awkwardly shaped sign, it now sits in Jon's front yard. Yeah, how would you feel about that as a neighbor?
But wait, it gets better.
Jon has rigged it up so whenever the Wild score a goal during the playoffs, he hits a button on his phone (because obviously he's at the game) and the X in his yard will light up and shoot off smoke and flames in celebration. I love the dedication!
He even set up a livestream of the X that goes live when the Wild are playing.

What Will Happen to The X When the Playoffs Are Over?
Since this was set up specifically for the playoffs, what's going to happen once they're over? Will the X stay in Jon's front yard?
He told FOX 9 that he plans to move the X up to his cabin this summer. After that, who knows. Maybe he'll set it back up when the next Wild season kicks off.
