Yes, buying a home is exceptionally expensive right now all across the state of Minnesota. But have you looked at homes for sale in the most expensive cities?

Thanks to data from Zillow, which was then analyzed by Stacker, we have the cities in Minnesota with the most expensive homes.

I'm sure this is a trend in all cities in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but in each graph representing the city's home value, the line is pretty flat at the start of 2018 through 2020. Then, around the beginning of 2021, the costs of homes started to shoot up, and it hasn't stopped since.

It seemingly has started to level off (based on these graphs), but tons and tons of people are still struggling to afford a home because of this sudden and dramatic price hike.

Despite the fact that it's a crazy housing market, it's also VERY interesting to take a peek at just how much the average home costs in these expensive cities.

All of these cities are on the smaller side (gee, I wonder why), and most of them are in the Twin Cities area (shocking). Getting more specific, a majority are in the Lake Minnetonka chain of lakes area (also, shocking).
