It's not exactly lake season, but we Minnesotans love our lakes any time of year. You might already be planning your lake trip for next summer or maybe making some plans for ice fishing.

Regardless of the reason, Minnesota's lake life is second to none. We have so many options (being the Land of 10,000 Lakes and all) and they're all so unique and beautiful.

Crazy enough, they put Lake Superior down at number 7! I feel like it'd be pretty obvious but I would honestly put Lake Superior at number one, personally.

Regardless of those rankings, none of them are the most searched lake in Minnesota. Yeah, not even Lake Superior!

Minnesota's Most Searched Lake

The most searched lake in Minnesota according to Google Trends is Forest Lake.

Could this be skewed a little bit because Forest Lake is also a town? Yes, definitely. However, I'm still a little surprised it beat out Lake Superior.

Forest Lake, the lake itself, is also a popular spot for fishing. The Minnesota DNR says that largemouth bass and walleye are the top fish anglers are trying to catch there.

They say Forest Lake is also a big spot for ice fishing for walleye early in the season.

Other most-searched lakes in Minnesota include White Bear Lake, Prior Lake, and Big Lake at 2, 3, and 4. All of them are lakes and also towns. The first lake that's not also a town to make the list is, in fact, Lake Superior.
