We can expect snow and blowing snow Monday and with the new year coming on Wednesday this week, Mother Nature plans to dip Minnesota back below normal for temps beginning Jan 6, 2020.

The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities sent out this graphic this morning for the first two weeks of 2020. We start out with normal high temps in the low to mid 20's but the following week of January 6 we can expect below-normal temps throughout the week.

How cold will it get?

Well it's not a Polar Vortex by any means, but it will be enough to make you put on another layer. The Weather Channel has temps that week in the teens for a few days and then warming back up into the low 20s.

Just a reminder with the colder weather on the way that you should never try to heat your home using a "combustion appliance" such as a gas stove, oven, barbeque grill, or dryer. Never operate any gas-burning heater or other appliance in a poorly vented or closed room, or where you are sleeping. Those types of devices give off carbon monoxide.
