The unofficial kick-off to summer, Memorial Day weekend, is nearly here, but in Rochester, we kicked things off a little bit earlier. That's because 'Music Downtown' is officially on!

Every summer, downtown Rochester features free live music at the Peace Plaza so we can get outside, soak up our short summer to the max, and enjoy some live music from local artists.

Downtown Rochester, Minnesota shared on Facebook that 'Music Downtown' has officially kicked off this week for 2026.

Free Live Music in Downtown Rochester, MN

I was trying to find an official schedule for when we can expect to catch live music in the Peace Plaza, but I couldn't find anything. However, in past years, the schedule has always been the same each week.

So, based on the schedule that was release for this week, we should be able to catch 'Music Downtown' Mondays through Fridays 11 AM - 1 PM and 4 - 6 PM. Make sure you stay updated on the Downtown Rochester, Minnesota social media pages for the latest schedules, though.

The remainder of this week's live performances for 'Music Downtown' includes:

Tuesday, May 19th
The D'Sievers - 11 AM-1 PM
Becca Tesch - 4-6 PM

Wednesday, May 20th
Eleanor Sievers - 11 AM-1 PM
Ted Eckhardt - 4-6 PM

Thursday, May 21st
Joel Ward - 11 AM-1 PM
Sothea Lam - 4-6 PM

Friday, May 22nd
Nancy Tobiason-Kramer - 11 AM-1 PM
Tim Dallman - 4-6 PM

Hopefully more of these performances will be announced soon and we can listen to some great live and local music during lunch or happy hour. Also, if the weather doesn't cooperate, the performance will be moved inside to the Galleria.
