A new and unique experience has opened in Rochester. It will take you all around Downtown Rochester and it's called the 'Rochester Arts Talking Trail.'

Talking art? What? Not exactly.

The Rochester Arts Talking Trail takes you on a self-guided tour to many different art pieces around downtown that are accompanied with an audio component so you can listen to the story behind the piece. I think that's pretty cool!

As you're going along the Arts Talking Trail, when you reach a new piece, you can either scan the QR code that's there, find the corresponding audio on their website, or find the audio on the Talking Trail app.

I can guarantee that you'll find something along this trail that you didn't know existed in town. Just looking at their website of the featured pieces there's a couple I have never seen before myself.

On their website they mention that the goal is to feature 30 pieces of art on the Talking Trail. As of writing this, there are 14 with audio (a 15th is listed but it says the audio is 'coming soon'.)

Their goal is to "strengthen the connections to local art and local artists by sharing the stories of the incredible creators who splash color into our everyday spaces." Some of the pieces featured right now include pieces in the Peace Plaza and a stunning mural that's on the U of M Rochester campus.

This would be such a great way to get out and about around our own town more and to discover areas of town that you didn't even know were there.

I'll be excited to see what other pieces they add to the trail.
