This may feel late in the season to announce a campground opening, but honestly, September and October are some of the best months to camp. It's usually not too hot during the day and at night it cools down to the perfect sleeping temperature.

With that being said, the new campground at Oxbow Park in Byron is opening soon! Reservations are available right now, and this includes their new camper cabins that they've been working on.

Oxbow Park Campground Opening September 1st

Back in March I wrote about Oxbow Park working on the construction of the new camper cabins, specifically. There are four of them and they each have a little kitchen area with a microwave and fridge, plus A/C and heat. They sleep 6 people, but there's no bathroom, so you'll still need to use the bathroom facilities with the rest of the campground.

As for the campsites, there are 42 electrical sites with water hook-ups. There's a dump station nearby as well as the bathroom facilities and two vault toilets.

There's also Wifi, a big playground, and plenty of green space.

The camper cabins cost $75 per night and the campsites cost $35 per night.

Also, while the camper cabins do have heating, the camping season, even for the cabins, runs until October 17th. After that, we'll have to wait until next May to check out the campground.
