Park Board Okays Rochesterfest at Soldiers Field

The Rochester Park Board Tuesday approved a request from the Rochesterfest organization to hold the annual event at Soldiers Field Park.

 The board earlier approved a request to hold the event at Central Park but that plan ran into opposition and there was uncertainty over infrastructure improvement costs.

The Park Board was told organizers have already had discussions with the Family Y and Veterans Memorial organization about holding it at Soldiers Field and plans will be made to limit disruptions to the neighborhood.

The City Council still needs to approve permits for the event to be held at the new site.
