Missing Paws and Claws Dog Has Been Found
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about a dog from Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, MN who slipped her leash while out on a walk and had been missing since March 23rd.
There had been sightings of her and so many people trying to help but the dog, Winnie, is so shy and skittish that she kept running and kept her distance.
Last night, though, Paws and Claws shared a really exciting update: After almost exactly a month, Winnie had been trapped and is back and safe at the shelter!

Missing Rochester, MN Dog from Paws and Claws Found, Trapped, and is Safe
With the help of a "skilled and determined trapper named Missy", they were able to locate exactly where Winnie was. After setting up a trap and waiting for 3 hours last night (April 22nd), Winnie finally entered the trap and they were able to bring her back to the shelter.
Missy had spent a lot of time figuring out the best way to trap Winnie and last night, everything just came together perfectly.
Through the process, they learned that Winnie had been spending her time in the Kalmar landfill and sleeping on a pile of mattresses. Ugh, that makes me so sad! But now she's safe and sound back at Paws and Claws with proper bedding, food, and love.
Winnie is Up for Adoption
Winnie IS up for adoption! Of course, I'm sure that'll be postponed until after a vet gets to examine her and make sure she's ok. But if you're interested in meeting Winnie, you can fill out an application online.
They believe Winnie to be an Australian Cattle Dog who is around 2 years and 7 months old. She's from a breeder and was not socialized properly or given the love that she deserves. Clearly, she will need an owner who understands what she needs and maybe even a dog friend to show her the ropes.
