In the late 1800s, Caleb Bradham marketed a beverage designed to help with digestion, but sales didn't take off until the small-town pharmacist changed the drink's name. It was known as "Brad's Drink" up until 1898 when Bradham changed the name to Pep-Kola.

Pep-Kola quickly became Pepsi and the rest is history. The company now operates in more than 200 countries and employs nearly 300,000 people. Later this month the beverage giant is celebrating its 125th birthday with parties in cities all around the world including one here in Rochester, Minnesota.
