Plainview Reports 118 Degree Heat Index

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It will be another warm and muggy day Saturday across southeast Minnesota, although conditions are not expected to be as bad as they were on Friday.

The combination of heat and humidity pushed heat index readings well over 100 degrees in the Rochester area. The maximum at the Rochester airport was 105 degrees around 3:00 PM.

Temperatures were still in the 80’s Friday evening and will climb back into the upper 80s to around 90 across the region Saturday. Heat index readings will be in the mid to upper 90s.

Cooler air is expected to move into the region Saturday and this could trigger scattered afternoon/evening thunderstorms with 1-2 inches of rain in the Rochester area.
