According to the restaurant's website, Leeann Chin was a gifted chef who immigrated to Minneapolis back in the 1950s. The restaurant chain happened by accident. Leeann owned a sewing business and would cook dishes for customers to show her appreciation for their business.  After these customers got a taste they started hiring to her to cater events and the rest is history.

Today, there are over 50 Leeann Chin locations and soon Rochester will get to taste those famous dishes. Jeff Kiger from the Post Bulletin reports that the company plans to open a restaurant in NW Rochester near the north Target. Leeann Chin's Chinese Cuisine serves chicken, beef, and shrimp dishes.

We've reached out to the Bloomington based company but weren't able to confirm a grand opening date. As soon as we get that info we'll pass it along.
