According to the criminal complaint, the State Patrol was called to investigate a road rage incident last Wednesday. Two women told the responding State Troopers that they were in a vehicle traveling north on Highway 52 when they encountered a slower moving vehicle in the left lane and passed it in the right lane.

The women reported the other driver responded by brandishing a handgun and pointing it at their vehicle. They said he then sped up and attempted to pull up alongside their vehicle and they feared he was going to fire the handgun at them.

The woman in the driver's seat then sped up in an attempt to flee from the man, who eventually exited Highway 52. The two women were able to provide the troopers with a description of the man, the gun he was holding, and the license plate of his vehicle, which led to the arrest of Gustafson. The court record also indicates he was in possession of a loaded 9 mm handgun at the time of his arrest.
