Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is accused of intentionally ramming his car into a moped, injuring its driver and then driving off

Charged with felony assault and criminal vehicular operation is 29-year-old Daniel Lara.

The incident happened around 5:30 AM on July 26th.

Investigators learned the victim had been at a party the day before where he was attacked by several people after getting into an argument. He reportedly also had a confrontation with Lara while holding a gun. After the victim left on his moped, Lara reportedly drove after him in his car.

A home surveillance video showed Lara swerve towards the victim after he had parked and was getting off the moped. The video showed the vehicle run over the moped and drive across two lawns without slowing down. The victim flew onto the roof of the vehicle after being hit and landed on a lawn as Lara drove off.

The victim suffered a concussion, multiple abrasions and lacerations and complained of pain in his neck, wrists and knees.

Lara was arraigned Friday and his conditional bail was set at $25,000.
