Rochester Man Pleads Guilty As Charged In Child Porn Case
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to possessing dozens of photographs of child pornography.
Ten counts were filed in Olmsted County Court against 33-year-old Bryan Borland in 2020. During a court hearing Monday, Borland pleaded guilty to all the charges.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
Rochester police began investigating after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The IP address listed in the tip was traced to a Rochester business where Borland worked and an email address was linked to his phone number.
According to the criminal complaint, Borland admitted being part of a group chat that shared pornographic photos and some depicted children. A search of his home led to the discovery of folders containing over 100 pornographic photos, most showing males who appeared to be under the age of 18. The charges allege that at least one of the images was of a child who appeared to be 8 to 10-years-old.
