Rochester Man Run Over by Tractor

A Rochester man was reported in serious condition at St. Mary’s this morning after being run over

by a farm tractor yesterday.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department  was contacted around 12:45 p.m.,  moments after 51 year old Bruce Wohlfeil was injured.  A group of four tractors was cutting corn in a field north of Pine Island.  The first one in the caravan drove over Wohlfeil’s bicycle and the driver stopped.  The driver of a second tractor that was pulling a trailer did not see Wohlfeil and he was run over.

Investigators later learned a passerby had spotted Wohlfeil about 2 ½ hours earlier sitting next to his bicycle along a road near the site where he was run over.  It's not yet known why he was in the cornfield.
