Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who stole a large amount of money from Mayo Clinic has been ordered to repay his former employer $100,000.

Sentenced Monday was 48-year-old Timothy Stafford. He pleaded guilty last year.

Police say Stafford was working as Mayo’s Parking and Transportation Supervisor when he stole more than $170,000 between September 2015 and March 2016.

The investigation into the case began in January 2016 when an anonymous tip was received on Mayo’s compliance hotline “alleging that Stafford was stealing money from parking ramp deposits in the Damon office.”

Stafford has also been given a 60-day jail sentence and placed on probation for up to 10 years.
