
Post-Christmas Boredom? These Rochester Events Will Save Your Weekend
The weekend hits, Christmas festivities have come and gone, and now... the kids are home from school, maybe there's family in town, and you've got nothing to do.
Don't worry! There are plenty of fun events that are happening around Rochester, MN this weekend to keep everyone entertained. I did the digging, so you don't have to.
I tried to find a variety of events that are coming up: some that are family-friendly, some that are more for the adults. So let's get into it!

Things to Do in Rochester, MN Dec. 26th - 28th
Rochester, Minnesota Scavenger Hunt: A Minnesota Miracle - any time
There's a company called Let's Roam that puts together these fun scavenger hunts in different cities around the US. Right now, there's a Rochester one that you can partake in at any point this weekend!
You don't meet up with a guide or anything. How it works is you buy tickets online ($12.99 per person) to get access to the scavenger hunt. Then, you access the scavenger hunt on your phone. It'll take you to places all around Rochester, and you'll probably learn something about our city you never knew!
They say the total walking distance is about 1.57 miles, and it'll take about 1.5 hours to complete.

Art Class at Art Heads Emporium - Fri, Sat, and Sun
Art Heads Emporium in Rochester is offering some great guided classes this weekend.
On Friday, Dec. 26th, there's a guided Minnesota Skies painting class, 6 - 8 PM.
On Saturday, Dec. 27th, there's an all-ages guided painting class called Moonlight Snow, noon - 2 PM.
Also on Saturday is the guided Magic Forest painting class, 4:30 - 7 PM.
And on Sunday, Dec. 28th, there's a floral sun-catcher guided class, 1 - 4 PM.
All of the classes are $35 a piece. No experience is necessary for any of these classes!
Bull's Beirhouse Ugly Sweater Party - Friday, Dec. 26th, 7 PM
If you're still feeling festive on Friday, grab your ugly holiday sweater and head over to Bull's Beirhouse in Rochester for some fun! There will be live music from Samuel Haefner on the piano and Sothea Lam of Push & Turn. There will also be prizes for the ugliest sweaters.
Littlest Thistles Kids Club - Saturday, Dec. 27th, 11 AM - noon
Once a month, Little Thistle in Rochester hosts their Littlest Thistles Kids Club. Decembers just happens to be the Saturday after Christmas! Each Kids Club is a little different, but they all offer family-friendly activities that the kids will love, plus, you parents get to enjoy a beer if you'd like. Win-win!
Puzzles and Wine Night - Saturday, Dec. 27th, 6 - 8 PM
On Saturday night at Salem Glen Winery in Rochester, there's a Puzzles and Wine event. You have to register your team in advance (teams can be up to 4 people). You'll get a puzzle (that you get to take home) and a bottle of wine of your choice. You get 2 hours to complete the puzzle (and wine) with your team. The team that's the fastest wins a prize, but this would just be fun to do casually, too.

Thank You... Christmas is Over Comedy Night - Saturday, Dec. 27th, 6:30 PM
At Prescribed Laughter Comedy Club (which is by Crooked Pint in Rochester), there's going to be a special comedy show in celebration of the stressful Christmas season coming to an end. Doors and pre-show start at 6:30 PM, and he show officially starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $23-32.
Kids Open Gym at Rochester Gymnastics Academy - Sunday, Dec. 28th, 12:30 - 2:30 PM
If the kids need to burn off some energy, Rochester Gymnastics Academy has kids' open gym on Sunday. Passes are $20 (or $15 if you're a member). RCA writes, "No snaps, buttons, or zippers. Socks are required for the white bed trampolines."
There's also an adult open gym time, also on Sunday, 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
Disney and Pixar Trivia - Sunday, Dec. 28th, 2 - 4 PM
Little Thistle is hosting another family-friendly event this weekend. This time, it's Disney and Pixar Trivia!
From Up to "Elemental" and back to "Snow White," we're covering the wonderful animated worlds of Disney and Pixar, and will hopefully hit your favorite rats, robots, and royalty!
You'll definitely want to take your kids to this because winning teams get Little Thistle gift cards.
