We're just over two months away from one of Rochester, Minnesota's biggest summer events returning. Thursdays Downtown (known as Thursdays On First in the past) is coming back in June but it's going to look a bit different this year.

Thursdays Downtown in Rochester, MN

Thursdays Downtown always hosts tons of local vendors selling food, drinks, and artisan products. There's also live music throughout the day at two different stages.

I love going a few times each summer to see what all of the vendors have to offer, grab a drink and maybe some food, and enjoy a little live music. Plus, not all of the vendors are the same each week, so you need to go multiple times so you don't miss anything!

Thursdays Downtown is Moving

Something different is happening with this year's Thursdays Downtown, though. They're moving to a new location.

Don't worry, they won't be going too far. The move is just to avoid road construction that will be taking place on 2nd St. this summer.

Instead of going up 1st Ave. as far as the vendors usually do, everything is going to be shifted south on 1st just a bit. Then, instead of being on the Peace Plaza, there will be vendors set up down 3rd St. and also along 2nd Ave.

This also means the stages have been moved, with the 1st Ave. stage on the opposite side of 1st Ave. compared to normal and what's usually the Peace Plaza stage will now be on 2nd Ave by the Mayo Clinic Stabile Building.

Here's a map so you can get a better visual of it.

Like I said, not to crazy of a move but it'll definitely be strange since we're used to having the festivities on the Peace Plaza!

This year's Thursdays Downtown will kick off on Thursday, June 12th, and run every Thursday (except July 3rd) through August 14th.
