Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The investigation into the suspicious death of a Rochester man has become a homicide investigation.

Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen says the preliminary results from the autopsy have led investigators to believe the man found dead in his apartment Thursday morning was murdered. As of Friday evening, no arrests had been reported and Captain Moilanen described the investigation as active and ongoing.

The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Robert Elridge Volgmann. His death was discovered by his landlord in a four-plex at 2319 28 1/2 Avenue Northwest that police described as an unsupervised adult group home. He may have been dead as long as 24-hours and Captain Moilanen says there was visible trauma on the victim's body that suggested foul play might have been involved in his death.
