Rochester Public Schools Will Be Reducing Bus Capacity Due To Covid-19
I know there are a lot of questions on what school is going to look like in the fall. I've got kids in the Rochester Public School district and am in the same boat as every other parent. We are waiting and seeing what this next year will be like for our kids. While we don't have all of the answers yet, planning has started and that includes transportation. Due to Covid-19, that is looking different too and parents must act fast if they are needing transportation for their kids.
Just in case you missed the info, Rochester Public Schools left messages for families on July 14th with the following information:
Due to Covid-19, the district will be making changes to our bus routes and we will be running at reduced capacity. We will be following the guidance of the Minnesota Departments of Education and Health. As we are preparing, we need to know if you will be using RPS bus transportation regularly this school year. We are requiring all eligible families to complete a registered rider form to indicate if you plan to use RPS bus transportation by Monday, July 27th. To complete this form visit www.rochesterschools.org/ride
A letter was also sent through the mail with the same information.
Set a reminder for yourself and don't forget to fill out the form by July 27th if your child needs transportation. Or, just do it right now by clicking here.
What do you think school should look like in the fall for students? Let me know what you are thinking on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram. Personally, I am very curious about how families will be communicated and what the plan will be if someone in the school or classroom has Covid-19 symptoms. A laid out plan for communication and transparency is extremely important to me. I won't be satisfied if I hear the words, "Due to privacy" when we are talking about an illness that currently has no cure.
You know the phrase, "The struggle is real"? I've been working from home off and on the past 4 months with my kids and some days, I am screaming that phrase. I thought I'd give you a glimpse of what "working from home with kids" really looks like. AKA = my real life.
