Got a call or three this morning on the Y-105FM Early Morning Show asking if Denny's South was closed. Ginger said what most of 'em said, "It looks closed...like no cars, nothing going on..." So I made a call to Denny's on the Frontage Road and here's what I found out.

According to the employee on the phone (preferred to remain anonymous), Denny's South is NOT closing. Let's nip that rumor in the bud.  There have been a lot of businesses closing lately, and some favorite restaurants among them, so it's not surprising that's the first thought, but good news, Denny's South is not one of them.

They are, however, remodeling. So as soon as the remodel is done, they'll be open again.

I'm glad it isn't closing, but I am glad people were asking about it because it gives me a chance to tell my favorite Denny's story.

I took a date there by request. We saw a play and then went to Denny's because she wouldn't stop talking about Moons Over My Hammy.

Seriously. before the play, during the play, after the play, on the way to the car, in the car, as we walked in. Singing it, making up poetry about it, and even doing what she called a MOM-HUH Interpretive Dance (OK, that one was pretty good...annoyed, but impressed I was). I didn't ask for a second date, and neither did she.

OH MY GOSH!  Maybe it was all a ploy to get me to NEVER date her again.

I'm not mad.
