Rochester Sets New Construction Record
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester set a construction record in November.
The city’s Building Safety Dept. approved 200 building permits for new construction during November that were valued at $58.2-million.
That increased the year-to-date total to nearly $496-million - the highest annual figure on record. The previous record was $484-million, set in 2015.
The largest permit approved during November was for the Hilton hotel that’s being built along Broadway. It totaled $38.2-million.
Homebuilders were also busy in November as they took out 41 permits for single family homes. That’s the most for the month of November since 2004 and raised the year-to-date total to 406, close to the 2016 figure of 418.
