Rochester Tennis Courts, More Golf Courses Opening This Week

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Good news for Rochester golfers and tennis players.

The city Parks and Recreation Department plans to open two more golf courses and outdoor tennis courts this week.

Northern Hills golf course is scheduled to open Wednesday. The Hadley Creek course and outdoor tennis courts will open  Friday. The First Tee youth program at Hadley Creek remains suspended until further notice.  Golf reservations can be made starting Monday.

The department reminds golfers social distancing guidelines and other restrictions are in place at all golf courses and reservations for tee times will be required. Groups will be limited to four players.  

The  department has also implemented these guidelines for the tennis courts: 
“Singles” Play Only; “Doubles” permitted for members of the same household.
Play with members of your own household whenever possible.
Keep six (6) feet apart from other players and park users.
Wash/sanitize hands before and after playing tennis.
Do not share equipment with other players. Sanitize equipment after play.
Do not use the courts if you are feeling ill.

The Outdoor Tennis Center Clubhouse will only be open for restroom and hand washing use. The courts at the Outdoor Tennis Center at Kutzky Park will be monitored by staff and are available for members or for visitors who pay the $10 daily guest fee. The department has also announced exterior lighting at sports complexes, fields, courts, and other public parks spaces will be discontinued due to budget constraints.
