Rochester Throws It Back This Weekend With The Hip Hop Time Machine

If you were hanging out at the Wicked Moose back in the day you were most likely dancing to one of the artists that will be appearing this weekend at the Mayo Civic Center. Rochester is throwing it back on Saturday night with the Hip Hop Time Machine which will feature several hip-hop acts from the early 2000s.

The concert will feature five acts and is scheduled to go from 7:00 PM – 11:00PM at the Mayo Civic Center on Saturday night. And, after the show a post-concert party is happening at CRAVE. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office and start at only $28. See the artist line up below.

Rochester’s Hip Hop Time Machine

Five multi-platinum artists will be performing hits from back in the day on Saturday April 23rd at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. Here’s who is scheduled to perform:

Ying Yang Twins

The Ying Yang Twins debuted in 2000 but it wasn’t until 3-years later that they blew up. In 2003, they teamed with Lil’ Jon on the mega-hit “Get Low.” The following year they released “Salt Shaker” which is the song the duo is probably best know for.

J-Kwon

J-Kwon’s song “Tipsy” was one of the biggest songs of 2004. It peaked at number 2 on the charts.

DJ Unk

DJ Unk’s career started in the late 90s, but he didn’t become famous until 2006 when he dropped “Walk It Out” which reached the top ten on the billboard charts.

Bubba Sparxxx

Bubba's 2003 song "Ms. New Booty" peaked at 7 on the billboard charts and features the Ying Yang Twins so you shouldn't be surprised if they collaborate on stage Saturday night.

Yung Joc

Yung Joc’s biggest song was the 2006 hit single "It's Goin' Down".
