Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman called 911 Monday afternoon to report a break-in that occurred 12 hours earlier at her home.

Police say she waited so long to call because she was afraid if she reported the incident the intruder would return and harm her.

The 59-year-old woman was sleeping when she heard her dog growling around 4:00 AM. When she went to check she found a man in her home. The woman tried running outside but the man stopped her and demanded money. When she said she didn’t have any, the man left.

The woman described the intruder as 5-9, skinny with a Sudanese or Somali accent. She lives in the 4600 block of 13th Ave NW.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry
