Rochester Women’s Group Organizing Prom Dress Drive

A new women's group in Rochester, called the Sisterhood Project, is putting together a prom dress drive! This drive will help students at John Marshall High School who can't afford a prom dress still be able to have one.

A member of the Sisterhood Project, Katherine Coleman, told KTTC, “'This is going to be one of their last things that they get in their high school career, and we have fond memories of it and we wanted to give it to them too.'”

Counselors at JM will connect the students with the Sisterhood Project. The students will be able to shop for the perfect dress. The group is hoping to receive lots of different dresses in all kinds of sizes and colors so the students have lots of options!

If you have a dress that you'd like to donate, contact Katherine at (507) 289-7494 and then you'll drop off your dress at American Family Insurance at 923 N. Broadway Avenue. They are asking for dresses that are a size 8 or above.

If there are dresses that are donated that are not picked by students, the Sisterhood Project will donate the dresses to organizations that will be able to repurpose the dresses.
