Four months ago, I rolled up my sleeve and turned my head away as my blood filled up a bag that would go to someone else who needed it to survive in Southeast Minnesota.  Unfortunately, more than just my blood is needed and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota just sent out an urgent message asking for everyone to help.

There's an Urgent and Immediate Need for O- Blood Donors in Southeast Minnesota

I know giving blood might sound a little bit scary, but honestly, it is one of the easiest things that you will do in a one hour of your day.  In fact, you just lay back, relax, and when your donation is done, you get an amazing snack!  (Yes, there are cookies for you to enjoy...and trust me, they are delicious!).

If you are 16 years old or older, and know that there aren't any restrictions for you to give blood, people in our area could really use your help.  Ok, blood.  People in our area could really use your blood.  O- blood is especially needed but all blood types are welcome!

Why are O blood types so important?

I'm not just saying to give just to write words.  This blood shortage is a serious issue in our area and throughout our country and lives are depending on this blood.  I even know some of those people and that's why a few months ago, I donated myself.  I'm already on the schedule to donate again too!
