Roof of a MN State Fair Building Partially Collapses
On Tuesday night part of the roof of the cattle barn on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds collapsed due to the weight of the snow.
The St. Paul Fire Department told WCCO that the area where the roof collapsed is used for housing "State Fair trailers and other equipment."
The Minnesota State Fair website says that the cattle barn is a nearly century-old brick structure and is 117,450-square-feet.
A statement from the Minnesota State Fair says that the rest of the cattle barn remains structurally sound, which is great news! Hopefully, the snow won't cause any more issues.
Now is a great time to remind you to clear the snow off of your roof if you haven't already done so! This stuff is heavy so clearing it will help prevent any structural damage and also help prevent flooding in your home.
