Science says that if you talk to yourself, you could be a genius. Yeah, a regular Wile E. Coyote. According to Einstein.org, Albert Einstein "used to repeat his sentences to himself softly." I notice my wife does that a lot after the kids are asleep...

Get this, a study was conducted to see how talking to yourself actually worked and was helpful. Twenty people participated in the study. Subjects were given items to find in a store. One group was sworn to silence. Another group was allowed to say what they were looking for in the store. The people that were able to talk to themselves and say what they were looking for out loud had an easier time finding what they were looking for. Talking to yourself helps with memory.

According to science, talking to yourself makes your brain work more efficiently; helps organize your thoughts; builds esteem, and helps achieve goals.

Talking to yourself had once been considered a sign of schizophrenia, but not anymore. Just the opposite. You could be the rocket brain surgeon of whatever field you work in because you talk to yourself!

You do still need to be careful about talking in your sleep...

Check out the rest of the scientific study here. Where have you been and what have you been doing when you've been caught talking to yourself?
