It was a busy night of High School Football Tuesday as the section quarterfinals got underway across much of the state. There were some great games across the area, and some upsets too.

The semifinals are now set! Check out the scores and highlights from last night's quarterfinal action below.

Section 1 9-Man Quarterfinal Results

#1 Spring Grove Tops #8 Houston 48-16

Houston held an early 8-7 lead, but the Lions offense found its stride as they went on to top the Hurricanes in the quarterfinals. The Lions advance on to the Section Semifinals, while the Houston Hurricanes end their season with a record of 1-8.

#4 Grand Meadow Takes Down #5 Lyle-Pacelli 36-22

The Grand Meadow Superlarks were able to knock of Lyle-Pacelli in a tough battle in the Section 1 9-Man Quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Superlarks move on to the Section Semifinals where they will take on Spring Grove. The Lions topped Grand Meadow 47-16 back in Week 4 action earlier this season. Lyle-Pacelli ends their season with a record of 4-5.

#2 Mabel-Canton Beats #6 LeRoy-Ostrander 52-32

The Mabel-Canton Cougars offense was fantastic in a tough matchup with LeRoy-Ostrander Tuesday night, and we had the action on 103.1 KFIL. The Cougars were able to hit on big plays through the air earlier to build their lead, while the Cardinals use methodical drives to keep it close in the first half.

With the Cardinals driving late in the second quarter and in the red zone. Cayden Tollefsrud was able to intercept a Camden Hungerholt pass and return it 97-yards for a touchdown right as the first half expired. The pick-6 turned the tables and gave the Cougars a 44-18 lead at the half.

The Cougars advance on to the Section Semifinals where they will battle #2 Lanesboro Saturday afternoon. The Burros beat the Cougars in Week 7 action 57-30.

LeRoy-Ostrander ends their season 2-7. The Cardinals battled the injury bug all season, but several players stepped up in new positions and big roles. They battled hard every week, and that did not change on Tuesday night. They battled tough, but the Cougars offense was able to make some big plays to secure the win.

#2 Lanesboro Runs To 35-6 Win Over #7 Southland

The Lanesboro Burros were able to use their physical run-game to get a 35-6 win over Southland in the Section 1 9-man quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Burros, now 8-1 on the season, will have a tough matchup with Mabel-Canton at home Saturday afternoon. The Burros topped Mabel-Canton in the regular season 57-30. Southland ends their season 1-8.

Section 1A Quarterfinal Results

#3 Rushford-Peterson Beats #6 Hayfield 41-6

The Rushford-Peterson Trojans got back on the winning track with a 41-6 win over Hayfield Tuesday night. We had the action on FUN 104. Rushford-Peterson was able to move the ball well throughout the game to get the win and advance on to the Section 1A Semifinals Saturday afternoon. They will battle Bethlehem Academy Saturday afternoon in Faribault. The Trojans fell to B.A 20-13 in Week 8 action. Hayfield ends its season 3-6.

#4 Randolph Tops #5 Kenyon-Wanamingo 22-8

Randolph took down a tough Kenyon-Wanamingo team in the Section 1A Quarterfinals to advance to the Section 1A Semifinals Saturday afternoon. Randolph fell in their Week 8 contest with Hayfield, but the defense was able to hold K-W to just 8 points. Randolph advances to take on #1 Fillmore Central in Harmony. The Falcons topped Randolph 29-8 in the regular season. Kenyon-Wanamingo's season ends with a record of 4-5.

#2 Bethlehem Academy Takes Down #7 Kingsland 42-14

Bethlehem was able to take down the Kingsland Knights behind an impressive offensive showing to advance to the Section 1A Semifinals Saturday afternoon. Bethlehem Academy will host #3 Rushford-Peterson, who the Cardinals topped 20-13 in the regular season. Kingsland ends their season with a record of 4-5.

Fillmore Central received a first-round bye as Wabasha-Kellogg opted out of the Section Playoffs.

Section 1AA Quarterfinal Results:

#2 Caledonia Takes Down #7 Lewiston-Altura 47-0

The Caledonia Warriors defense was flying all over the place, and the run-game was fantastic en route to a 47-0 win over Lewiston-Altura Tuesday night. The Warriors advance on to the Section 1AA Semifinals Saturday afternoon where they will host #6 St. Charles. The Warriors topped St. Charles 46-14 in the regular season.

Lewiston-Altura ends its season with a record of 0-9. The Cardinals battled the injury bug all season long, but they never gave up and many younger athletes stepped up throughout the season to play big roles for the Cardinals.

#5 Goodhue Beats #4 Dover-Eyota 27-7

The Goodhue Wildcats were able to avenge a regular-season loss to Dover-Eyota with a big 27-7 win in the Section 1AA Quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Wildcats were able to hold a tough Eagles offense to just 7 points. The Wildcats advance to the Section 1AA Semifinals Saturday afternoon where they will take on #1 Chatfield. The Gophers took down Goodhue 28-20 in the regular season. Dover-Eyota ends its season with a 5-4 record.

#6 St. Charles Upsets #3 Triton 19-14

The St. Charles Saints were able to go on the road to Dodge Center to take down a tough Triton team 19-14 in the Section 1AA Quarterfinals. The Saints tough run game was able to get the best of the Cobras. The Saints move on to the Section 1AA Semifinals Saturday afternoon where they will take on the #2 seed Caledonia. The Warriors topped St. Charles in the regular season 46-14.

The Cobras end their season with a record of 4-5.

#1 Chatfield received a first-round bye as Cotter opted out of the Section 1AA playoffs.

Section 1AAA Quarterfinal Results:

#2 Cannon Falls Beats #7 Pine Island 53-7

The Bombers run game is serious, and it is was led them to a big 53-7 win in the Section 1AAA Quarterfinals Tuesday night over Pine Island. Cannon Falls advanced to the Section 1AAA Semifinals where they will host #3 LaCrescent-Hokah on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers took down the Lancers 60-49 in the regular season. Pine Island ends its season with a record of 0-9.

#4 Plainview-Elgin-Millville Beats #5 Lake City 48-26

The PEM Bulldogs were able to hold off Lake City to secure a Section 1AAA Quarterfinal win Tuesday night. The Bulldogs win over the Tigers advances them to the Section 1AAA Semifinals where they will battle Rochester Lourdes. The Eagles had a bye in the first round and took down the Bulldogs in the regular season 27-8. Lake City's season ends with a record of 3-6.

#3 LaCrescent-Hokah Tops #6 Zumbrota-Mazeppa 49-28

The Lancer offense really found its rhythm in the second half of the season, and it continued in the quarterfinals. The Lancers got the win over the Cougars 49-28, and now have a tough test against the #2 seed, Cannon Falls, on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers beat the Lancers 60-49 in the regular season. Zumbrota-Mazeppa ends its season with a record of 1-8.

Rochester Lourdes received a first-round bye as there are seven teams in Section 1AAA.

Section 1AAAA Quarterfinal Results:

#4 Byron Tops #5 Red Wing 37-0

It was a shutout for the Byron Bears as they got the big win over Red Wing in the Section 1AAAA Quarterfinals. The Bears advance on to the Section Semifinals where they will take on #1 Stewartville. Byron upset Stewartville in the Section Semifinals a year ago. The Tigers are tough once again and beat Byron in the regular season 44-0. Red Wing finishes its season with a record of 1-8.

#3 Winona Takes Down #6 Albert Lea 56-13

The Winona Winhawks advanced to the Section 1AAAA semifinals with a nice 56-13 win over Albert Lea in the quarterfinals. Winona will head on the road to battle Kasson-Mantorville, the #2 seed, who the Winhawks fell to in the regular season 31-13. Albert Lea wraps up its season with a record of 0-9.

The #1 seed Stewartville and the #2 seed Kasson-Mantorville each received byes in the 6-team Section 1AAAA playoffs.

Section 1AAAAA Quarterfinal Results:

#3 Northfield Tops #6 Rochester John Marshall 41-6

Northfield has now won two straight as they took down Rochester John Marshall in the Section 1AAAAA quarterfinals. Northfield will now travel to Owatonna to take on the Huskies in the semifinals. Owatonna won the regular season matchup 21-19. John Marshall finished its season with a record of 0-9.

#4 Rochester Century Holds Off #5 Austin 21-19

The Rochester Century Panthers found themselves in a tight battle with Austin in the Section 1AAAAA quarterfinals. The Panthers were able to get the victory 21-19 at home to advance to the Section 1AAAAA semifinals. Rochester Century knocked off Austin in the regular season 20-7. Rochester Century will take on #1-seeded Rochester Mayo in the semifinals. Mayo won the regular season matchup 49-18. Austin finishes its season with a record of 2-7.

#1 Rochester Mayo and #2 Owatonna each received a bye in the first round of the 6-team Section 1AAAAA playoffs.
