Why Rochester’s Largest Toy Store Is Closing For Good

ABC & Toy Zone located in Rochester's Miracle Mile Shopping Center will be closing for good. The 10,000 square-foot store, which opened in 1993, is the largest locally owned toy store in all of southern Minnesota.

The store offered a huge selection of toys and books, educational products, and was home to "Rochester's Real Santa" each holiday season. The owners have released a statement explaining their decision to close. Read that and find out when they'll stop accepting gift cards below.

The owners shared the news in an email that was published by ABC 6 news.

They said:

"With many emotions including a heavy heart, we would like to share that we have decided to retire from retail. It is time for us to slow down, spend some quality time with our four grandsons, and do some traveling. This will be a new chapter for us."

No exact closing date has been announced, but we did find out gift cards won't be accepted after February 25th. And, don't worry if you ordered anything recently - Those products will come in and be available to pick up.

The owners are hoping to find someone to take over the business, but will sell everything if they can't find a buyer.
