Stewartville Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Stabbing
Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Stewartville man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed during a confrontation in his apartment Thursday.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Lt. Lee Rossman says the stabbing was reported around 2:00 pm after the victim had been taken to St. Marys Hospital by his roommate.
The apartment where the stabbing took place is located at 105 S. Main St.
Rossman says the 42-year-old victim was stabbed in the face and one of his arms and his condition deteriorated while he was being treated in the ER. Rossman says it now appears the man will recover.
The victim’s roommate witnessed the assault and identified the man who stabbed him as 20-year-old Cole Thielen. He was apprehended at a rural residence near Grand Meadow around 12:30 am Friday and is now being held in the Olmsted County jail.
Rossman says the victim and suspect are “acquaintances.” Rossman says investigators requested assistance from the Minnesota BCA because it was not known Thursday if the victim would survive.
