Suspect Identified In Abduction Case of 2-Year-Old Minnesota Child
Paynesville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A suspect has been identified in the alleged abduction of a 2-year-old child that triggered an AMBER Alert on Thursday afternoon.
Arrested was 31-year-old Victor Ramirez (also known as Benigno Alvarrez) of Big Lake, Minnesota. The Pope County Sheriff’s Office said Ramirez was booked into Kandiyohi County Jail and is facing possible kidnapping charges. Formal charges are expected Friday.
Authorities said that Ramirez was arrested by Big Lake police officers outside of his home just after 11:00 pm Thursday, following a brief struggle. Investigators located the child after receiving a 911 call that the child was in the garage of the caller’s Paynesville residence.
The child was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for evaluation and is in the custody of his mother.
