New Luxury Resort Opens On Minnesota’s North Shore With Stunning Lake Superior Views
If you like your northwoods getaways to have some luxurious flair, this brand new place near Two Harbors on Minnesota's North Shore might be for you.
Back in 2022, it was announced that a developer had plans to create a luxury North Shore resort on the shore of Lake Superior that would include unique lakeside dome tents, A-frame cabins, and other accommodations offering an upscale up-north experience.
Developer John Leupke told North Shore publication Boreal that he envisioned the resort, called The Harbors, as a modern and luxurious getaway for families and couples with an emphasis on privacy to enjoy some peaceful lakeside relaxation.
Just in time for the 2026 summer tourism season, The MSP Business Journal is reporting [PAYWALL] that The Harbors is now open, welcoming guests to enjoy some R&R at the 23-acre resort just south of Two Harbors on East Stanley Road off Scenic 61 (Old North Shore Rd).
What's neat about the physical location of this resort is that it is just around the point from the ore docks in Two Harbors, which means you're likely to see some nearby water traffic as ships come and go from Agate Bay.

One other note about the location is that it is very near the Grandma's Marathon starting line.
The Harbors offers four different types of accommodations, from luxury tents to villas, and they all look pretty stunning! Here's a look at each of the different offerings.
Luxury Dome Tents at The Harbors
Far from rustic, these are the smallest and simplest accommodations at the resort. That said, they have a lot to offer! They are far from the normal "glamping" tent you might be thinking of.
The Harbors has two geodesic dome tent lodging options, a cozier lake-view dome for up to 4 people, and a larger 6-person dome. Both sets of accommodations have their own parking and WiFi.
The smaller dome tents sleep up to 4 people between a bedroom and loft space, bathroom, small kitchenette (fridge, convection oven, cooktop), hot tub, and offer incredible lake views, right on the shore of Lake Superior!
The larger dome tents sleep up to 6 people with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen, fireplace, and a private outdoor deck/patio space.
A-Frame Cabins at The Harbors
If you prefer a harder roof over your head, these A-frame cabins put a roof over your head, but still offer spectacular views through plenty of windows with "elevated" northwoods interior finishes.
The A-frames are the smallest permanent structure lodging options at The Harbors, offering a cozy getaway with their smaller "Tiny A-frames" and larger A-frame cabins to accommodate couples or small groups.
Along with comfortable sleeping bedroom/loft spaces, each of these cabins also comes with a fireplace, modern kitchen, and private outdoor space to enjoy. A-frame guests also have WiFi access waiting for them to stay connected.
Cabins at The Harbors
The next lodging option is one or two-bedroom cabins, a slightly larger option than the A-frames I mentioned above, that are designed for couples or small families/groups
The cabins have bright, modern-looking interiors with two levels, private bedroom space(s), full kitchen, fireplace, private deck or patio space, WiFi, and plenty of windows to enjoy views from inside, too.
Villas at The Harbors
This is the largest lodging option at The Harbors, designed for groups of up to 12 people.
These multi-level villas offer 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, fireplace, private hot tub, a spacious kitchen, ample room inside for your group, and a private patio space to enjoy time outside, too.
Like the other accommodations, there is WiFi to stay connected (if you feel like staying connected, that is), and there are plenty of windows to enjoy the great scenery and awesome Lake Superior views.
