
Things to Do in Rochester When it’s Too Hot Outside
It's way too hot outside! We're in a heat advisory right now until 9 PM Tuesday night, but it's going to stay hot after that and into the weekend.
So what do we do when it's too hot to be outside, but it's summer, so you still want to go do something fun?
I rounded up some ideas of things to do indoors in the AC during this heat wave in Rochester.

Visit the Rochester Art Center
Admission is free to those 21 and under. Anyone over 21, it's $8 for admission.
Find a New Book at the Library or Local Book Store
The Rochester Public Library is, of course, free to visit. But we also have some amazing local book stores if you want to buy a new book. Garden Party Books and Diatom Books are a couple of them.
Do Some Shopping (or Window Shopping) at the Apache Mall
You don't need to buy anything, but walking around at the mall can keep your family entertained while staying in the AC.
Visit the History Center of Olmsted County
There's an admission fee but I can't find the pricing on their site. Learn more about the history of our area at the galleries and historic properties.
Catch a Movie
Head over to Marcus Theaters or Pop's Art Theater to watch a movie and get out of the heat.
Bounce Around at Air Insanity
If your kids need to burn some energy, taking them to Air Insanity to jump around on the trampolines might be the right call.
Go Bowling at a Local Bowling Alley
Bowlocity and Colonial Lanes are both great spots to have some fun and get out of the heat for a bit.
Try Your Luck at an Escape Room
Book an escape room at UNRAVELED and see how fast you can find your way out!
Visit SPARK Children's Museum
Younger kids will love spending some time having fun and learning at SPARK in the Apache Mall.
Go Climbing at Roca
Another spot that's great if your kids need to let off some steam. But this is also a great spot for you and some friends to hit up if you like to rock climb.
Play Old-School Video Games and Throw Axes at Old School Arcade
At Old School Arcade, you can try out axe throwing or you can tap into some nostalgia with their old-school arcade games. You can play the arcade games an unlimited number of times for only $13.50.
