This Awesome Blast-From-the-Past Product is Making a Comeback

Chances are if you were born before the 90's, you had a waterbed! I did, and pretty much everyone I know did. It was one of the most comfortable beds ever, but if anyone (pets included) were in the bed with you, it was like a roller coaster ride. And don't even get me started on getting trapped between the bed and the frame. Or, the fact that they weighed a million pounds. There is no way to move even a twin sized water bed, without emptying the water.

The LA Times reported in a 1989 article that water beds were a $2-billion-a-year industry. But by the '90s, their popularity quickly declined. In 2013, waterbeds held less than five percent of the mattress industry.

Well, the inventor is trying to make a comeback!

According to Newser, 71 year old Charlie Hall (the original inventor) is betting that "a slew of improvements—temperature control, calmer waves, etc.—will once again make the beds a must-have for the younger generation when they hit the market later this year."

A queen sized waterbed will cost you a pretty $2,000. I'm not going to lie, I would be interested in checking out the new bed with all it's improvements. Would you?
