Visit the Sistine Chapel Without Leaving Minnesota
Since traveling isn't exactly something that's happening in 2020, especially travel to other countries, let's bring those hot tourist attractions to us! How about visiting the Sistine Chapel without leaving Minnesota? The Mall of America is hosting a super cool exhibit called 'Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibit'.
Unfortunately, due to the 'dial back' that Governor Walz issued last week, this exhibit is closed for the time being. But I wanted to share this with you anyway because it's set to be at the Mall of America until the end of January so hopefully we'll be able to still check this exhibit out.
Based on pictures the 'Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibit' is a walk-through exhibit featuring the incredible art that you'd see in the actual Sistine Chapel. On the Mall of America's website they say, "These frescos were reproduced on canvas using state of the art technology, allowing visitors to study the art up close and at eye level." There's also an audio tour that you can follow along the way which will give you the history of each of the pieces.
MOA says that the average visit is about an hour. You also need to buy tickets in advance which you can do on their website, HERE (once they re-open).
So let's get through these next 4 weeks of the 'dial back' period so we can get to the Minnesota edition of the Sistine Chapel! What a cool exhibit especially during 2020 when we aren't able to physically go see the Sistine Chapel anyway.
