The National Hot Dog & Sausage Council (that's really a thing) says  Americans will eat more than 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July alone and millions more through the rest of summer.

Condiments are crucial when it comes to hot dogs. Some swear by mustard, others like ketchup, and now there's a new option. A Pepsi flavored ketchup. I honestly thought this was a joke when I saw it posted online, but the soda company says it's legit, but you'll only be able to find it at one spot in Minnesota starting on July 4th.

Pepsi says they worked with the Culinary Institute of America and "completely reimagined what condiments can be for America's favorite summer food."

Jenny Danzi, Senior Director for Pepsi, said "We have always known that hot dogs taste better with Pepsi, and now the experts think so too."

Danzi said Pepsi Colachup was made "to reinforce just how well hot dogs and Pepsi go together – an unapologetically mouthwatering creation that seamlessly merges a condiment with the ultimate hot dog pairing beverage, delivering a unified taste experience."

David Kamen, director of client experience for the Culinary Institute of America explained, "The concept is both simple and creative. The distinctive flavors and vibrant citrus blend of Pepsi enhances the bright and tangy characteristics of ketchup, offsetting the smokiness of the hot dog."

Pepsi Colachup is only going to be available for a limited time and there's only one place to try it in the entire state of Minnesota.

Baseball fans will be able to top their dog with the Pepsi-infused ketchup on July 4 at Target Field.  If you're headed to the Twins' game that day and want to try this new condiment you'll need to head to the concession stand located in Section 113.

No word on how long the new ketchup will be available at Target Field or if it will ever find it's way to retail stores.
