Chicken and waffles, the combo has been growing across the county for quite a few years. Not since 1789 when Thomas Jefferson bought a Waffle Iron has there been so much excitement over waffles (most true...read here). The latest entry is from Dairy Queen.

Starting Today (Monday), participating Dairy Queen stores will be selling fried chicken and waffles as one of their basket meals. Think chicken strip basket, with butter, syrup, and waffles (oh, and with fries, too).

BUT, since Dairy Queen has independent operators, not every Dairy Queen near Rochester in SE Minnesota will have 'em. First, it has to be a Grill and Chill store, which, after calling all the Rochester locations, leaves out Rochester, Stewartville, and several others.

You WILL be able to get 'em in Plainview, Spring Valley, and Zumbro Falls.

NOTE: KFC is serving Chicken and Waffles, too (at both Rochester locations).

PS - According to WIKI, there are two kinds of chicken and waffles. The one we know best is the Soul Food version. There's also the Pennsylvania Dutch version, which sounds pretty good, too.

The Pennsylvania Dutch version consists of a plain waffle with pulled, stewed chicken on top, covered in gravy.[2] It is generally found in the Northeastern United States.
