Mother Nature is about to deliver a dose of reality and remind us that it's still winter.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Southeast Minnesota from 6 p.m. Thursday through Friday evening.

Expect:
* Snow and freezing drizzle from Thursday evening
through Friday evening.

* Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches... locally higher
possible. Ice accumulations of a glaze are also possible.

* Significant reductions in visibility due to the snow.

Travel will be impacted, and as of now it looks like there could be school delays or closings. Dunken and Samm will provide the latest information from area schools and updates on road conditions throughout the morning on Friday.

Please plan accordingly. If you must travel, allow yourself extra time to reach your destination safely.  Is your car prepped for this winter storm? The Minnesota State Patrol recommends having these 16 items in your car.
