With word that yet ANOTHER late spring winter storm is taking aim at Minnesota, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out it's been cold so far this spring. But do you know just HOW cold it's been?!?

The Winter of 2018 (better known as The Winter That Won't Ever End) has been keeping the Land of 10,000 (Still Frozen) Lakes well within its grasp, even here in April. It's a far cry from the much milder weather we experienced just last year, during the Spring of 2017.

ABC-6 Meteorologist Chris Kuball summed it up in a Twitter post earlier this week. He found that during the first 10 days of April 2017, temperatures in southeast Minnesota were 3 degrees above average. (Which was pretty nice, if I recall.)

This year, though, during the Winter That Won't Ever End, our temperatures during the first 10 days of April have been 19 degrees... BELOW AVERAGE. Which puts them a full 22 degrees colder than last year. So, yeah, to say it's been cold so far this spring would be quite the understatement.

Fellow ABC-6 Meteorologist Cindy Morgan also put things into perspective by pointing out that as of Thursday, April 12th, we've gone 14 days-- a full two weeks, mind you-- since our last day with an above-average high temperature. And, she said that streak could stretch to a full THREE weeks-- 22 days, she thinks-- before things finally get above average.

At this rate, I'm wondering if we'll still be wearing our winter gear once Memorial Day rolls around. Sheesh. Enough already, Old Man Winter!
