According to my Facebook feed, most of my friends hit up the final days of the Minnesota State Fair over the holiday weekend, everyone looked like they had a lot of fun--and I saw this picture and it cracked me up!  When we were kids growing up in Massachusetts, we would always spend about a month out here in Minnesota to visit my mom's side of the family.  One year, we hit up the local fair here and it was sooooo hot, but my mom and aunt wouldn't let us get water or lemonade because "The American Dairy Association tent is just around the corner" ---this next part is NOT a dig against the ADA or farmers or anything, I know its because I'm crazy---but my take away is that we had sorta warm milk (it probably wasn't but it was a really hot day, and....do you remember that scene in Anchorman where he shouts "It's so hot....Milk was a bad idea"?.... THAT'S what it was like,  plus its been like 25 years, so I'm sure the memory has changed over time. )  Anyway, I got to drink a semi-tepid glass of warm chocolate milk on a sweltering day, about 15 feet away from mooing (and stinky) cows, and there was this fake cow you could "milk" and...well, it made me think this milk I was drinking was right out of the udder too.  It ruined milk for me. (cow, almond, soy--all of it!) Anytime I have cereal or a glass of milk now, I need to have ice in it.  I'm now one of "those" people....all because of a fair.  So now that I got that off my chest--let's hear some of your FAVORITE memories/traditions from fairs as a kid!  Is there anything you have to make sure you let your kids do at the fair, because you loved it so much as a kid?
